The Studio

Pro Recording Facility in a unique setting for authentic sounds

Live Room

Built in 2023, the room was designed from the ground up for recording. The 4 metre tall vaulted space provides a wonderful natural reverb and, as there are no parallel walls, there is not a resonance to be heard. Large windows provide views over the garden and village in one direction and the fields up to the village church in the other.

Control/Listening Room

This meticulously designed space provides an accurate and neutral listening environment. Tuned bass traps and strategically placed acoustic treatment elements work in harmony to create a flat frequency response allowing for faithful reproduction of audio, minimising colouration and ensuring reliable mixing and mastering decisions.

Testimonial

See what they say about us…

I set my drums up in the large open live room with vaulted ceilings that overlooks fields and the picturesque village. The live room is very comfortable due to its size. As you sit behind the drum kit you are overlooking fields that adds to the recording experience. The feel in the space is incredible due to its design; big, spacious and open sounds.

The listening room is modern and offers a comfortable space to sit and listen back to the recordings via very good speakers; all equipment is high quality.
Tom is innovative using different mic set ups - and repurposing old speakers to use as mics - to capture a variety of sound depth and detail in addition to the very comprehensive traditional mic set-ups for a drum kit. The space and mics captured some fantastic sound and the initial mix sounded great. Really looking forward to hearing how other members of the band will sound!

Tom is a fantastic and knowledgeable engineer. He puts you at ease with a no-pressure atmosphere and attitude. Communication was clear during the recordings and Tom provides feedback and inspiration/ideas during the sessions. He allowed me as the musician to lead in how I wanted to record my sessions but offered advice and guidance where needed.

I loved my recording sessions at Granite Ridge Audio and very looking forward to returning for more sessions. The space, equipment and Tom made the experience my most enjoyable recording session to date.
